About Scotland
Scotland
is the northern part of Britain, which in turn is located in northwest Europe. Sharing
its only land border with England to the south has meant that throughout most of
the country's history the larger nation has featured prominently! Scotland is
separated from mainland Europe by the North Sea to the east, while the North Channel
separates the country from Ireland to the southwest. As well as the mainland
section of the country Scotland also consists of about 790
islands, most of
which lie in the Atlantic Ocean that marks the boundary to the north and west.
